What is the LUXBEAM® Lithography system (LLS)?

The LUXBEAM® Lithography System (LLS) is a subsystem for machine builders/tool makers to incorporate into their next-generation direct imaging lithography solution. The LLS supports applications within advanced packaging, micro-optics, and PCB manufacturing.

What does it take to integrate your products?

Our LLS system supports applications within advanced packaging, micro-optics, and PCB manufacturing. The LLS comes with an in-detail documented interface and on-site support for easy integration into the new machine/tool.

The LUXBEAM® Rapid System (LRS) is a professional, high-volume sub-system for 3D print machine builders to create machines combining high resolution and high volume output on vast build areas. It comes with a detailed documented interface for easy integration into the machine base and machine software.

Can I buy the LLS photo heads separately?

We do not offer the photo heads separately, because it is closely linked to our system software, which is required for proper functionality. The LLS is a sub-system, integrated toward your machine/tool.

What is the difference between Hybrid (HY) and UV versions of a product?

Hybrid and UV product versions essentially differ in a single component – the DMD. Texas Instruments offers two flavors of such DMDs, i.e. standard version, formally specified for the VIS and Deep Blue applications (down to 400 nm), and a dedicated version for UV applications (down to 360 nm). Hybrid product versions comprise the standard DMD, while UV versions comprise the UV DMD, resulting in a price difference. All other optical components are identical between the two product versions, and can equally handle both Deep Blue and UV wavelengths.

Can Hybrid product versions be equipped with UV LEDs (365/385 nm), and what are the trade-offs?

Technically, the UV LEDs can be installed in Hybrid Engine versions. The benefit is a lower product price, but there are downturns, such as lower power output and deteriorated on-off contrast in the image. In addition, larger variations in those parameters must be expected due to DMD batch variations. Last, but most importantly, Visitech will not be able to warrant the DMDs when used at an out-of-spec wavelength range, even though we have not experienced noticeable numbers of incidents.

Why can LRS-WQ and LRS-4KA/WQm products not be used in scrolling configurations?

Data transfer in these products is done by HDMI, where the light engine basically is used as a secondary monitor. Frame rates are neither high enough nor are the data transfer protocols at all suitable to cope with the specific demands of synchronizing the light engine output with the motion system in a way that grants sufficient accuracy.
